Netaro: storage and privacy
Netaro supports local use without an account and stores portfolio records in SQLite on your device. Creating an account adds server-backed portfolio backup and sync. Its policy says cloud backups use provider-managed keys and are not end-to-end encrypted.

Can you use Netaro without an account or bank connection?
Netaro says you can use it locally without an account. You enter assets, accounts, and liabilities yourself. Its terms say it does not connect to your bank, brokerage, exchange, or lender.
Where does Netaro store portfolio data?
Netaro says local portfolio data lives in SQLite on your device. If you create an account, a backup copy of portfolio and profile information is stored in its server database to support cloud restore and sync. Local use and account-backed use therefore have different storage boundaries.
Are Netaro cloud backups end-to-end encrypted?
Netaro explicitly says its cloud backups are not end-to-end encrypted. They use encryption in transit and at rest with provider-managed keys. Its policy also says cloud backups do not replace your own separate financial records.
What data can Netaro online and AI features receive?
Netaro market lookups use information such as symbols, asset names, categories, and currencies. Its optional AI features can process messages and portfolio or holdings context through AI providers. A connected assistant can read portfolio figures after you authorize access; Netaro says that access is read-only and can be revoked.
How do Netaro export and deletion requests work?
Netaro directs users to its privacy contact to request an export or exercise data rights. Account and cloud-backup deletion requests use the account email and can require verification. Deleting local device data does not automatically delete a previously synced cloud copy or cancel a store subscription.
What remains unestablished?
The reviewed policy does not establish encryption of the local SQLite portfolio database or a self-service portable backup file format. Confirm the current export format and local recovery procedure with Netaro. Cloud restore and a portable file backup are different capabilities.
How to use these profiles
We build Exitmargin. These profiles summarize provider documentation, not hands-on tests or an independent security audit. They contain no paid placements or affiliate links. A missing detail is an unknown, not proof that a feature is absent. Source-review dates describe when we checked the pages, not when the provider changed its service.
Compare the broader set of 18 finance tools, or read Exitmargin’s own storage and backup limits. Keep spreadsheets as an option: the net worth worksheet is a separate record you control.
